It was windy yesterday. Windy and rainy. The kind of storm that’s fun to watch from inside while drinking a warm beverage. We were enjoying it quite a bit when suddenly our power went out again. The first time it went out it lasted for a second but this time there was a much longer delay. So Lisa and I sat and enjoyed the silence. After about ten minutes we got adventurous and talked about our budget. After 15 minutes I decided to light some candles an fetch the flashlight from down the hallway. It was at this point I noticed a beacon of light shining from under a doorway in the hall. My first thought was “man that’s a bright candle.” upon further inspection I realized it was a lightbulb. It was only then that I realized the entire house had power except the room we were in because the most recent outage had tripped the breaker for our living room and our living room alone. Basically we sat in darkness for just over 20 minutes voluntarily. It was a really nice break.

Next, I do the ol’ “get the pit out by getting it stuck on the knife” trick.

This is where the magic starts.  I then take the empty side and use it as a barrier between my had and the pesky pit.  I then grab the pit off the knife.  

My hand is clean!

Add chopped red onion, lime, fresh cilantro, tomatoes, salt and ENJOY!

Now, off to get that “to-do” list out . . . .

I’m feeling inspired by getting something accomplished that doesn’t have to do with cutting hair, lightening hair, coloring hair, perming hair . . . hair.

Don’t worry, the tv is fine.

And my grass is growing!!!!

What a deal

I really do love them

The sun was shining into my room.

The thought came to me to water the lawn.

That’s new.

It’s weird since I’ve never been into working in the yard.  My sister’s wedding is approaching (One week from today!) so we’ve all been pitching in to get the house ready for guests. That includes the untouched front yard. I’ve discovered I actually enjoy working in the yard! I’ve been defining new flower beds, cultivating the soil, and planting sun-loving flowers. I have tried to kill the moss and plant grass seed.

That grass seed.

I want it to grow.  

Please grow cute little grass seed!

Hopefully it will look like this someday!

So of course the answer is “YES” to paint!  Even if it’s not a “forever item” (my new term that means something that will most likely change again in the next few years)  it’s an easy way to create a fresh, clean look to your room.
